The results of the prestigious 50th BCS Preliminary Test (MCQ Type) have been officially released, marking a significant milestone for thousands of civil service aspirants. According to the formal announcement made on Tuesday, February 10, a total of 12,385 candidates successfully passed the preliminary stage and are now eligible to sit for the written examinations.
The journey for the 50th BCS began with massive participation, as 290,951 applicants vied for a spot in the country’s top tier of public service. The preliminary exam took place on January 30 across 190 centers in Dhaka and seven other divisional cities. The swift publication of results within just eleven days of the exam highlights the Bangladesh Public Service Commission’s (BPSC) commitment to accelerating the recruitment process.
Through this 50th BCS circular, the government aims to recruit a total of 2,150 officers across both cadre and non-cadre positions. Out of these, 1,755 are designated cadre posts. A substantial portion of the recruitment is focused on the Health Cadre, which will see the appointment of 650 medical professionals. Additionally, the administration is set to welcome 200 new officers in the Administration Cadre and 117 in the Police Cadre.
For the 12,385 successful candidates, the focus now shifts to the comprehensive written exams. While the preliminary test serves as a rigorous screening process to weed out the competition, the upcoming written stage will be the ultimate test of their depth of knowledge and analytical skills. The BPSC is expected to announce the detailed schedule and seat plan for the written examinations shortly.
