For more than 1.2 million students across Bangladesh, tomorrow morning will arrive with a mix of excitement and nerves. The HSC result 2026 will be published on Saturday, October 31, at 11 am, ending a wait of about two and a half months. Parents have been counting the days alongside their children, and many households will gather around phones and computers the moment the announcement goes live.
What We Know About the HSC Result 2026 Announcement
The results of the higher secondary and equivalent examinations will be announced at a programme organised by the Ministry of Education. Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon will inaugurate the event, and the moment he does, results will become available at educational institutions and online at the same time. A revised notice signed on October 27 laid out this arrangement. It was signed by Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.
In other words, nobody needs to wait for a separate release. Whether a student checks through a website, a text message or their own school, the results arrive together.
How Many Students Registered This Year
A total of 12,70,583 examinees, or roughly 1.27 million, were registered under the country’s 11 education boards for this year’s exams. The number who actually sat for the papers was lower, since a notable number of registered students stayed absent. The exact turnout will be clear from the boards’ official figures.
A Look Back at the Exam Schedule
This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2. The written papers were originally scheduled to finish on August 8, but natural disasters and floods disrupted the plan in several regions. Some exams under Chattogram and a few other boards had to be postponed and were held at a later date. Practical examinations were completed by August 15.
Seen against that backdrop, this year’s examinees sat their papers in a year when the weather forced changes to the schedule. That makes tomorrow’s announcement feel like the close of a long journey.
How to Check HSC Result 2026 Online
The coordination committee has named two official websites for collecting results, eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd. Institutions are asked to visit the result corner on the site and download the results by selecting their board and entering their EIIN number. The EIIN is the identification number assigned to each institution, so heads and staff should keep it handy.
Individual examinees have options too. Results will also appear on the two common websites of the education boards and on each board’s own site. If you plan to check online, write down your board name, roll number and exam year before 11 am, so you are not searching through papers while the page loads.
How to Check HSC Result 2026 by SMS
Internet access is not essential. The result can be retrieved by text message from any mobile number by sending an SMS to 16140. Begin the message with HSC and a space. Then type the first three letters of your board’s name, followed by a space, your roll number, another space and the exam year. A Dhaka Board examinee, for instance, would write HSC Dha 123456 2026 and send it to 16140.
Type the message carefully. A small slip, such as a missing space or a wrong digit, can stop the request from working.
